Melco Resorts & Entertainment has launched Macau’s largest fleet of zero-emission electric buses, with 20 buses put into service in collaboration with manufacturer Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Company Limited (Yutong).

The bus service will operate between Melco’s trio of Macau integrated resorts – City of Dreams, Studio City and Altira Macau.

“Melco are strong advocates of the Macau government’s policies to develop the city into a world-class capital for green tourism,” said the company’s Executive Vice President, Chief Officer of Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility, Akiko Takahashi.

“With strong support from Yutong, with whom we share the same vision on sustainable development, Melco is pleased to service our guests, colleagues and stakeholders with our fleet of 20 full electric buses, the largest number in Macau. We look forward to continuing to develop our strategies and efforts for a better environment.”

The launch ceremony was attended by MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Assistant Director-General of Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR Xu Jun, head of Research and Investigation Department of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau Chan Ioc Sut, Li Weng Hong from DSAT and representatives from the management teams of Melco and Yutong.
