Full statement:

Inside Asian Gaming (IAG) has released this statement to the Asian gaming industry to avoid any potential brand confusion in relation to the G2E Asia event to be held in Macau 7 to 9 May 2025.

IAG tried to issue an amicable bilateral statement with G2E Asia on this matter, but unfortunately the parties were unable to agree on the wording of this statement. However, IAG and G2E Asia have agreed to issue our own statements on this matter simultaneously at 2pm Macau time on 29 April 2025.

For many years, Inside Asian Gaming and G2E Asia have cooperated closely, both as joint venture partners and in a vendor-client relationship, on a number of G2E Asia initiatives, specifically:

  1. IAG has been exclusive Lead Media Partner for G2E Asia.
  2. IAG has organized the G2E Asia conference, with IAG Vice Chairman and CEO Andrew W Scott chairing the conference.
  3. IAG and G2E Asia produced the G2E Asia Awards as joint venture partners.
  4. IAG and G2E Asia produced the G2E Asia Daily newspaper as joint venture partners.

However, the global pandemic has disrupted the normal flow of G2E Asia since 2020:

  • 2020: no G2E Asia was held
  • 2021: no G2E Asia was held
  • 2022: G2E Asia was held in Singapore in August (instead of the usual Macau in May)
  • 2023: G2E Asia was held in Singapore in late May and early June, and again in Macau in July (instead of the usual Macau in May)
  • 2024: G2E Asia was held in Macau in June (instead of the usual May)

In 2025, G2E Asia returned to its normal format of taking place in Macau in May, albeit the first week of May instead of the usual third. During the disruptive years of the pandemic, IAG and G2E Asia formed differing views regarding the best way to approach Asian gaming industry trade shows.

These alternatives views persisted for several years and ultimately led to IAG establishing the IAG Academy Summit and the IAG Academy IR Awards, both of which were held in Manila in September 2023 and again in September 2024.

In September 2024, IAG announced that these events would be conducted once again in Manila in September 2025, but now under the banner of the wider IAG EXPO, with a new event, the IAG Exhibition, to also be run concurrently as part of the IAG EXPO. The IAG Exhibition will offer shell scheme booths and raw space stands.

As a result of IAG now conducting its own Exhibition, Awards and Summit, IAG and G2E Asia have agreed that IAG will no longer be involved in any Awards or Conference at G2E Asia. IAG will remain Lead Media Partner for G2E Asia in 2025 and for the foreseeable future.

From 2025, IAG’s role as Lead Media Partner will be its only official status at G2E Asia.

Should any Asian gaming industry participants have any queries about these arrangements, please contact any of the IAG representatives listed below:

  • Andrew W Scott, Vice Chairman and CEO, ceo@asgam.com
  • Scott Messinger, Chief of Staff, sjm@asgam.com
  • Jadeson Ho, VP Sales and Business Development, jh@asgam.com
  • Ben Blaschke, Managing Editor, bb@asgam.com
