Foreigner-only casino operator Grand Korea Leisure reported a 11.0% month-on-month decrease in casino sales to KRW30.5 billion (US$22.2 million) in October – its second straight month of substantial declines. The October result was, however, up 6.6% year-on-year.
GKL’s casino sales comprised a 12.0% sequential decrease in table revenue to KRW27.8 billion (US$20.2 million) but a 0.7% increase in slots revenue to KRW2.73 billion (US$1.98 million). This came despite a 12.7% sequential and 0.7% increase in drop to KRW331.1 billion (US$241 million).
Casino sales for the first 10 months of 2024 combined are at KRW317.9 billion (US$231 million), down 5.0% on the same period last year.
Table drop of KRW3.08 trillion (US$2.24 billion) through October is up 12.1% year-on-year.
GKL operates three casinos in South Korea and Seoul and Busan under the Seven Luck brand.
