Lotte Tour’s Korean integrated resort, Jeju Dream Tower, reported a strong uptick in casino revenues in August, rising 84.4% year-on-year and 44.5% sequentially to KRW33.0 billion (US$24.6 million). Non-gaming also booked a slight 7.4% month-on-month improvement to KRW9.93 billion (US$7.4 million).
The improvement in gaming segment revenue was across the board, with table games revenue up 42.6% over July to KRW29.8 billion (US$22.3 million) and machine revenue up by 63.9% to KRW3.23 billion (US$2.4 million).
Table drop of KRW159.6 billion (US$119 million) was up 28.3% over July and 20.2% over August 2023.
For the first eight months of 2024 combined, casino revenue has reached KRW192.4 billion (US$144 million), up 124% year-on-year, while hotel revenue is down by 3.8% to KRW59.0 billion (US$44.0 million).
Jeju Dream Tower is the tallest building in Jeju at 38 floors or 169 meters high and features a retail mall, 14 restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool deck, top floor skydeck with lounge, two spas and a casino boasting 150 tables and 300 slot machines.
The casino was relocated from its former home at the smaller Lotte Hotel Jeju in June 2021 and covers more than 5,000 square meters, offering 141 gaming tables, 190 slot machines and 71 electronic table games.
