The Hong Kong Jockey Club has announced the promotion of its Director of Security & Integrity, Moray Taylor-Smith, to the position of Executive Director, Security, Integrity and Information Security with effect from 15 January 2024.
According to information posted on the Club’s official site, Taylor-Smith will be a member of the Board of Management and report directly to the Club’s CEO, Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges.

In his new role, Taylor-Smith will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment across the Club and preserving integrity by combatting criminality and corruption risks that can threaten the its businesses. He will likewise be responsible for mitigating the risk to intangible Club assets, including its reputation and customer confidence, and intellectual property.
Through the newly established Information Security Risk and Assurance function, Taylor-Smith will also drive the strategy and policy in relation to information security, including cyber security. He will manage information security risks, including risk assessment, risk mitigation, risk monitoring and incident response, the Club said.
Taylor-Smith first joined HKJC in January 2020 where he has led the Security & Integrity department in protecting the Club’s security and integrity, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He is currently Co-Chair of the Hong Kong Chapter of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, and a long-time member of the Asia Crisis and Security Group.
The HKJC reported last September another record year for the 12 months to 30 June 2023, with total turnover up 5.1% year-on-year to HK$304.8 billion (US$38.9 billion) thanks largely to the improved contribution of both football betting and the Mark Six Lottery.
