Marina Bay Sands has reached a key milestone in its US$1 billion reinvestment programme following the completion of upgrades to more than 850 hotel rooms in Towers 1 and 2.
With a total of 1,282 rooms set to be transformed, MBS said the next phase of renovation will focus on the property’s ultra-luxe suites including an increase in the number of suites located in Towers 1 and 2 from 137 previously to around 422 to cater to rising demand for luxury travel.
Once the transformation within Towers 1 and 2 is completed by the end of the year 2023, the renewal will continue into Tower 3, the Hotel Lobby and Sands SkyPark. While full details of these plans have not yet been announced, MBS said it will revamp the Executive Club lounge as well as providing new premium fine dining and health and wellness offerings.
“This extensive design transformation of our iconic hotel is a leap forward in our commitment to set new benchmarks for ourselves and the industry,” said MBS Chief Operating Officer, Paul Town.
“And the transformation doesn’t just stop at our new rooms, as this is only the beginning. Over the next few years, guests will witness luxury at every corner of our property. From the arrival experience at the Lobby to new concepts on Sands SkyPark, every guest touchpoint is being reviewed and transformed, at a scale unprecedented in our 13 years of operations.
“We are very excited about what lies ahead as we transform to meet the evolving and elevated expectations of our guests.”
The transformation milestone comes just a week after MBS parent company Las Vegas Sands announced net revenues of US$848 million at its Singapore resort in 1Q23, more than double the amount generated a year earlier, including an all-time high in mass gaming revenue to US$549 million.
MBS previously announced that it had been granted a 12-month extension to its deadline to start work on a US$3.3 billion expansion of the property that will include construction of a fourth hotel tower.
