Vietnam’s The Grand Ho Tram will open its new Holiday Inn Resort on 15 January 2022, the property has announced.
According to a posting on the company’s website, Holiday Inn Resort – owned by InterContinental Hotel Group Plc – will be the brand’s first entry into Vietnam.
The new tower, originally planned for launch in July 2021 before being postponed due to the country’s COVID-19 situation, will offer 561 hotel rooms plus a range of facilities including an outdoor park area, a Kids Club, game zone, bowling alley, a tavern, golf simulator, pool tables and various restaurant and bar offerings.
The launch of Holiday Inn Resort will bring The Grand Ho Tram’s room count to around 1,100, adding to the 541-room Grand Ho Tram Hotel, since rebranded as InterContinental Grand Ho Tram, which opened in 2013.
Located on the southeast coast of Vietnam around two hours by car from Ho Chi Minh City, The Grand Ho Tram’s original phase cost around US$600 million to complete and included a foreigner-only casino and Greg Norman-designed golf course.
A majority stake in the property’s operating entity, Asian Coast Development Ltd (ACDL), was acquired by American private equity firm Warburg Pincus, LLC in 2019.
