MGM Resorts Japan has announced the completion of its online KGU (Kansai Gaidai University) and MGM collaborative education program for IRs.
The program is part of the university’s “Service and Hospitality Industry Leadership Development Program” established in September 2018 and saw students from Kansai Gaidai join with seven students from the Graduate School of Management, Kyoto University. It was the second time the course has been held.
MGM employees working at MGM properties in Las Vegas and at MGM National Harbor in Maryland, among other locations, participated, conducting 12 lectures about their various experiences in IR management, hospitality industry know-how and responsible gaming, among other topics.
Ed Bowers, CEO of MGM Resorts Japan, said, “An Osaka IR will create thousands of jobs over a wide range of tasks, including professions that have never existed in Osaka before. This training is vital to a future IR in Osaka.”
