Galaxy parent donates HK$180 million to community causes

K. Wah Group, parent company to Macau casino concessionaire Galaxy Entertainment Group, celebrated its 55th anniversary by donating HK$180 million (US$23.2 million) to community causes in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong’s first Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa and the incumbent Donald Tsang, attended the celebrations as guests of K. Wah’s chairman and founder Dr Che-woo Lui and Galaxy deputy chairman Francis Lui.

Hong Kong-listed K. Wah divided its donation between the Community Care Fund, The University of Hong Kong and Virya Foundation.
