Jimei, the leisure company that has run VIP junket operations in Macau since 1981, is moving fully into the casino operating business in the territory.
Jimei Casino, based at the Mandarin Oriental, Macau, will cater principally for high rollers. It will mark its soft opening on 17th January with a VIP ceremony and baccarat tournament.
Each participant in the preliminary round of the tournament will start with cash chips of HKD100,000 up to HKD300,000 maximum. Finalists will start with cash chips of HKD300,000 or up to HKD600,000 maximum.

The Mandarin site was previously home to a boutique casino with 13 public tables and two VIP rooms operating under a gaming licence from Macau’s former monopolist Dr Stanley Ho. The hotel and casino recently underwent an extensive refurbishment. The reopened casino operation will continue to use an SJM gaming licence.
Jimei was founded by Guangzhou-born entrepreneur Dr Jack Lam. In addition to its Macau interests, the company operates a casino cruise ship out of Hong Kong, casinos in Korea and casinos and leisure parks in the Philippines, as well as non-gaming VIP clubs in China.
