Sands China Ltd. has joined other Macau concessionaires in pledging to donate MOP$10 million (US$1.25 million) to support flood relief efforts in Zhengzhou, Henan province, which has been hit by severe flooding due to unprecedented heavy rains.
The donation will be made in coordination with the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR.
“Our thoughts and hearts are with the people of Zhengzhou during this difficult time,” said Sands China President, Dr Wilfred Wong.
“As a company rooted in Macau, Sands China considers it as part of our corporate social responsibility to support and assist in times of need, and we hope this donation will provide some level of relief to those affected and help them rebuild their homes and their lives.”
