Nagasaki prefecture has announced that it will hold a series of implementation policy briefing sessions for its RFP (Request for Proposal), which will act as a reference for selecting an operator with which to pursue an IR bid.
The briefings will be held between 1 and 19 June 2020 with one hour planned for each individual operator. They will include an explanation of the implementation policy by Nagasaki prefecture and provision of detailed information, including transportation measures and infrastructure, plus an opportunity for operators to ask questions.
Those registering to apply must fulfill certain criteria, Nagasaki prefecture said on Monday, including the applicant being a group member or related company which has experience operating a casino facility or facilities with more than 200 gaming tables and 1,000 slot machines, or a casino facility or facilities with GGR greater than JPY100 billion (US$930 million). Those facilities must have also covered a gross floor area for the entire facility complex of 300,000 square meters, or 150,000 square meters if the land itself measured 10 hectares or more.
However, the prefecture said it will not be disclosing the names of applicants or details discussed “in order to ensure fairness in the prospective RFP in relation to the Establishment and Operation of an IR in Nagasaki, Kyushu and to secure all applicants’ rights, competitive positions and other legitimate interests.”
