G2E 2013 opens in Las Vegas today with its largest version in the industry’s post-recession era.
The show, co-sponsored by the American Gaming Association and Reed Exhibitions, is welcoming more than 26,000 attendees for the three-day industry extravaganza, the largest gaming trade show in the world, to the Sands Expo & Convention Center adjoining the Strip. Among them will be 110 new exhibitors. In response to demand exhibit space is up almost 10% over last year, said Reed Senior Vice President Courtney Muller.
“The exhibition hall will be the largest since 2008,” she noted.
More than 100 seminars and training sessions mark this year’s show, which always draws significant participation from outside the US—77 international exhibitors this year. Topics slated for presentation and discussion will include responsible gaming, security and surveillance, design, marketing, regulation and legislation, global markets, finance and IT.
The “iGaming Zone” also is considerably larger than last year’s—a response to the growing interest in the country’s emerging online gambling market—and will host almost 20 exhibitors across 800 square meters. Overall, exhibitions related to the Internet will cover more than 1,540 square meters.
The Food, Beverage and Hospitality pavilion also is larger, with more than 85 exhibitors this year.
