A robotic dragon created by a Batman comics illustrator is on display at MGM Macau to celebrate Chinese New Year.
The 82-foot long, eight-ton MGM Fortune Dragon—installed in the Grand Praça area near to the resort’s hotel reception—is the work of Pat Lee, a comic book artist and designer who has worked on the Batman and Transformers franchises.
Laser lighting effects have been added to create the impression of the dragon breathing smoke. Beneath the installation—suspended from the roof—has been added a garden of 800,000 peach blossom buds designed in the shape of the Chinese character 福 (fook) symbolic of luck, blessings, happiness and good fortune.
