One of Macau’s most prominent satellite casinos, Paradise Entertainment’s Casino Kam Pek Paradise, will close its doors shortly before midnight next Monday 1 December.
SJM Resorts, S.A. – the concessionaire under which Kam Pek operates – announced Wednesday that it had reached an agreement to shutter the property following coordination with the relevant government authorities and Paradise – controlled by Jay Chun.
As such, all gaming tables and gaming machines currently operating at the location will be redeployed to other self-promoted casinos of SJM and staff reassigned to other SJM casinos to undertake gaming-related roles according to operational needs.
Customers holding chips, deposits or cash rebates accumulated at Casino Kam Pek Paradise that remain unredeemed after its closure may visit other self-promoted casinos operated by SJM Resorts from 2 December 2025 onwards for follow-up arrangements, with the company noting it will ensure all customer entitlements are honored.
SJM said it has consistently supported the Macao SAR Government’s policy direction in promoting the healthy, orderly and sustainable development of the gaming sector and strictly complies with the Gaming Law as amended in 2022 and related regulations to contribute to the sector’s systemic advancement.
Paradise recently outlined efforts to expand both its gaming equipment supply business and casino management experience across Asia after admitting it will suffer a material decline in revenue and profit once its contract to provide management services to Kam Pek Paradise expires.
Following recent news concerning the closure of satellite casinos Ponte 16 and Fortuna – and the acquisition by SJM of L’Arc – peninsula property Landmark remains the only satellite of the 11 that were operational at the start of the year whose future is yet to be publicly determined.
