The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has announced the appointment of Casper Stylsvig as Executive Director, Sports Business (EDSB) with effect from 15 January 2026.
Coming just weeks after it was confirmed that HKJC would be permitted to add basketball to its sports betting portfolio, joining its existing horse racing and football offering, Stylsvig will be a member of the Board of Management and report directly to HKJC’s CEO, Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, the organization said.
It added that, as EDSB, Stylsvig will oversee its sports business portfolio and drive end-to-end commercial growth across horse racing, football, lottery and emerging sporting opportunities.

His focus will be to grow HKJC’s non-wagering and wagering related income streams, with responsibilities including to drive the commercialization of HKJC’s current assets as well as creating new income streams, especially from sponsorships and partnerships.
He will be responsible for strategic marketing to attract and retain different customer segments, will lead the multi-billion-dollar Racecourse Master Plan and will spearhead new ventures, including global growth opportunities. In addition, he will manage the sports wagering portfolio to channel wagering demand for community benefit – playing a key role in developing Hong Kong racing as a global sports brand and in transforming HKJC’s sports business, it explained.
“It’s an incredible honor to join The Hong Kong Jockey Club at such an exciting time in its evolution,” Stylsvig said. “The Club stands among the world’s most respected sports organizations, combining commercial excellence with a deep social purpose.
“This role represents a natural progressive next step in my career – bringing together best practices from global football to help shape the future of a truly unique, multi-sport business. I’m looking forward to working with Winfried and the team to drive innovation, expand our international footprint, and create world-class experiences for customers and fans in Hong Kong and beyond.”
Stylsvig is described as an accomplished sports executive with extensive experience in sports and entertainment and proven international leadership capabilities developed at some of the world’s most prestigious football clubs.
Most recently he was the Chief Revenue Officer at Chelsea FC, where he successfully restructured the club’s commercial operations, launched a comprehensive five-year strategic plan and delivered significant revenue growth across multiple business areas.
He previously held senior leadership roles at FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Fulham FC and AC Milan, where he is said to have secured landmark partnerships, spearheaded digital transformation initiatives and led commercial turnarounds that strengthened these clubs as innovative global brands.
