DigiPlus Interactive Corp, a leading operator and technology provider to the Philippines’ booming eGames industry, has decided to pause its Brazil iGaming platform, citing what it describes as a need to design a “uniquely local game experience”.
In a filing, DigiPlus said it had as of 10 October implemented the “strategic pause” after just three weeks of operations, having used the recent soft launch as a “live learning laboratory” to capture valuable insights into Brazilian player behavior, cultural preferences and entertainment dynamics. These findings, the company explained, will prove instrumental in sharpening the its research and development and guiding the design of a uniquely local game experience.
“We are taking the strategic step to pause GamePlus in Brazil so we can come back stronger with a digital entertainment offering that is not only locally relevant but also resonates deeply with Brazilian culture and entertainment habits,” said DigiPlus Chairman, Eusebio H. Tanco.
The pause, DigiPlus stated, forms part of its long-term strategy to prioritize quality, cultural resonance and sustainability, with teams in both the Philippines headquarters and Brazil now channeling their efforts toward the development of a “self-developed, best-in-class and locally innovative product offering” that is slated for a full-scale relaunch in early 2026.
DigiPlus is one of a handful of operators to have been awarded an iGaming license as part of Brazil’s efforts to establish a structured legal framework for iGaming.
The company is also looking to expand into South Africa, while on the domestic front it runs leading Philippine online bingo platform BingoPlus, sportsbook ArenaPlus and growing casual and arcade gaming platform GameZone.
