Australian supplier Ainsworth Game Technology (AGT) reported an 81% increase in revenue from the Asia-pacific region to AU$34.6 million (US$22.3 million) in the six months to 30 June 2025, playing a significant role in the company’s improved consolidated results for the period.
With group-wide revenue rising by 25% to AU$152.1 million (US$98.1 million), AGT said the progress of the APAC region was driven by the release of it’s a-Star Raptor cabinet in February, with the company achieving a 90% increase in unit sales for the period to 1,049 at an average selling price of AU$25,900 (US$16,710).
This also saw the contribution of the APAC region to group-wide revenues reach 20%, up from 14% previously. Segment profit in APAC improved form AU$1.6 million (US$1.0 million) a year earlier to AU$7.9 million (US$5.1 million) in 1H25.
“The successful launch of the A-Star Raptor cabinet within domestic markets received positive feedback from our customers similar to other markets where this product has been released,” the company explained.
“Product performance of titles launched on the A-Star Raptor, including Year of the Snake, Nugget Hunter and Eagle Riches, have consistently performed above house average. Further releases are expected, ensuring a strong portfolio of products developed on this new hardware.”
North America also performed well, with revenue growing 22% year-on-year to AU$83.1 million (US$53.6 million) and representing 55% of total revenue. This, AGT said, was due to the performance and continued commercialization of the released titles Triple Troves and Coin Kingdom across multiple states in North America which provided new placement opportunities.
However, Latin American segment revenue fell by 16% due to challenging economic conditions in this region and import restrictions persisting within Mexico. In addition, online segment revenue reflected previous changes to the company’s exclusivity arrangements with Game Account Network (GAN) in the prior-year period, with revenue falling 45% to AU$2.8 million (US$1.8 million).
AGT reported Underlying EBITDA of AU$26.9 million (US$17.4 million) and Underlying profit after tax of AU$14.0 million (US$9.0 million) in 1H25 – both slightly improved on the same period last year.
“We continue to execute on established strategies and capitalize on opportunities that emerge,” said AGT CEO Harald Newmann.
“The investments made have enabled us to upgrade our technology, hardware and continue to improve game performance which are expected to ensure we maintain our position in a highly competitive and consolidating market.”
AGT is due to host its 1H25 earnings call later at 10am Wednesday.
