The number of visitor arrivals into the Philippines was up by around 1% through the first two months of 2025, aided by a significant jump in overseas Filipinos heading back home.
According to information from the Department of Tourism, total visitor arrivals stood at 1,167,908 through 28 February – slightly higher than the same period in 2024 despite a 0.9% decline in foreign visitors to 1,083,402. This was on the back of a 33.1% jump in overseas Filipino visitors to 84,506.
February saw a total of 541,008 visitor arrivals, down from 626,900 in January and from 582,332 in February 2024.
Of the Philippines’ key source markets, visitation from South Korea and is down substantially for the first two months of 2025, with South Korean arrivals 10.6% lower at 294,652 and Chinese arrivals 35.3% lower at 53,250.
However, arrivals from the USA, Japan, Australia and Canada all showed year-on-year growth.
The Philippines has welcomed visitors from 154 different countries in 2025.
