Macau’s hotel occupancy rate reached 89.7% in November, up 6.6 percentage points versus the same month in 2023 and 2.4 percentage points higher than in October, according to information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
The November occupancy rate, comprising figures from 146 hotel establishments, included a 90.9% rate for 5-star hotels and 89.5% for 4-star hotels, up 7.3 percentage points and 8.0 percentage points respectively. The occupancy rate of 3-star hotels grew by 3.8 percentage points year-on-year to 86.1%.
Although the total number of guests fell by 2.5% to 1,174,000 compared with November 2023, the average length of stay grew by 0.1 nights year-on-year to 1.7 nights.
For the first 11 months of 2024 combined, the average occupancy rate of Macau’s hotels grew by 5 percentage points year-on-year to 86.1% and the total number of guests by 8.1% to 13,242,000. The average length of stay remained steady at 1.7 nights.
The DSEC also reported a 5.2% year-on-year increase in inbound package tour visitors in November to 213,000, with those from mainland China increasing by 2.1% to 189,000. International tour visitors grew by 36.3% to 20,000, with those from the Republic of Korea (10,000) and India (2,000) up by 89.8% and 37.1% respectively.
For the first 11 months of the year, a total of 1,908,000 inbound package tour visitors were recorded, up 70.9% year-on-year.
