The number of visitor arrivals to the Philippines in 2024 has moved past 5 million, according to latest information from the Department of Tourism (DOT).
The DOT’s updates tourism statistics show a total of 5,350,857 visitor arrivals as of the end of November, comprising 4,918,18 foreign tourists and 432,439 overseas Filipinos.
This included 471,835 arrivals in November, of which 433,130 were foreign tourists. Of those, 119,019 were from South Korea, followed by the United States with 75,511 and Japan with 30,717.
China ranked sixth among source markets with 17,303 arrivals in November, although it ranks fourth for the first 11 months of 2024 combined with 297,604 arrivals.
The 11-month figure for visitor arrivals represents a 9.5% improvement over the same period in 2023, however the Philippines will fall short of its original target of 7.7 million visitor arrivals in 2024.
