Macau’s gaming operators generated gross gaming revenues of MOP$18.4 billion (US$2.30 billion) in November, down 11.5% on October’s post-pandemic record of MOP$20.8 billion (US$2.60 billion) but 14.9% higher than the same month in 2023.
It was also back to 80.4% of November 2019 levels, according to information from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).
With October having benefited from the Golden Week National Day holiday, industry analysts had expected a slightly softer November but have reiterated that gaming spend in Macau remains robust. They have also forecast a relatively strong fourth quarter compared with recent quarters due to seasonality and the ongoing strength of the premium mass segment.
For the first 11 months of 2024 combined, GGR reached MOP$208.6 billion (US$26.0 billion), up 26.8% over the same period in 2023.
