The State Council has launched the latest policy benefiting Macau, with residents of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and holders of residence permits able to make unlimited trips to Macau for one year starting from 1 January next year.
Eligible individuals will be able to apply for “multiple-entry permits” for traveling to Macau, and can make unlimited trips to Macau within that year, with each stay in Macau not exceeding seven days.
In addition, Zhuhai residents can apply for “One-week One-permit” endorsement to visit Macau, which allows them to visit Macau once and only once in each natural week of a year, with each stay not exceeding seven days. The latest policy also covers Hong Kong.
Similarly, Shenzhen will also implement a “multiple-entry permit” policy for travel to Hong Kong.
At present, individual visas for mainland visitors to Macau are divided into quarterly and annual visas, with each stay in Macau not to exceed seven days.
