Information from Macau’s Financial Services Bureau (DSF) shows that the government’s gaming tax revenue in October reached MOP$6.65 billion (US$829 million), a 4.8% month-on-month decrease of 12.7% but 15.1% higher than the same month in 2023, when tax revenue reached MOP$5.78 billion (US$721 million).
The October tax figure correlates to Macau’s gross gaming revenues for the month of September, when GGR declined by 12.7% month-on-month to MOP$17.3 billion (US$2.16 billion).
Between January and October this year, gaming tax revenue reached MOP$73.0 billion (US$9.1 billion), up 41.6% year-on-year and achieving 87.4% of the government’s FY24 gaming tax estimate of MOP$83.6 billion (US$10.4 billion).
Total government revenue for the first 10 months of the year was MOP$89.0 billion (US$11.1 billion), which is 87.2% of the government’s estimated total revenue of MOP$102.3 billion (US$12.7 billion) for this year. Gaming tax accounted for 82.0% of the government’s total revenue during the 10-month period.
