Cebu’s NUSTAR Resort & Casino has completed the illumination of its tree, including its recently established “Star Bearers” tradition in which community member are invited to carry symbolic stars that represent love, hope, peace, and joy. This year, the fifth and final star was carried by the property’s Chief Operating Officer, Alan Teo, who completed the display of unity and celebration.
NUSTAR said in an announcement that this year’s Star Bearers were “changemakers who best represent each value – individuals who have made a positive impact in their respective fields and embody the spirit that each star represents.”
As these influential figures placed their stars on the tree, they were accompanied by the Sistemang Pilipino scholars in a tradition aimed at remining everyone of the deeper meaning behind the festive season, a blend of tradition, purpose and community, NUSTAR said.
The company also revealed that it made a significant contribution to Sistemang Pilipino – a non-profit organization that nurtures young musical talent across Cebu and the Philippines – via its foundation, the Universal Cultural Foundation Inc (UCFI). As part of this gesture, scholarships were awarded to deserving young musicians, providing them with the opportunity to pursue their dreams and develop their talents.
On the evening of the tree illumination, NUSTAR also launched its new music video, “Balay ni Mayang” – a continuation to the “I Love Cebu” music video launched during the Sinulog festivities. 
The afterparty included live performances, festive music and holiday cheer, NUSTAR said.
Over the coming weeks, the integrated resort will also unveil more festive surprises, including 12 Days of Holiday Magic offering world-class performances by Sistemang Pilipino, ringing in an elevated weekend of music and entertainment. Guests can expect daily holiday treats, enchanting decor, interactive displays and exclusive offers across dining, shopping, and entertainment, NUSTAR explained.
As each day brings new wonders, NUSTAR will continue to create unforgettable moments, ensuring that the holiday spirit lingers long into the season.
