Veteran Las Vegas casino executive Stanford Le starts in his new position as CEO of Crown Sydney today, the latest step in a group-wide leadership transition following its recent return to suitability in its key Sydney and Melbourne markets.
Le, who replaces the outgoing Mark McWhinnie, joins the company from Snoqualmie Casino in Seattle where he served as President and CEO. His former roles include senior marketing positions with Wynn Resorts, Las Vegas Sands and Caesars.
He was one of a number of new appointments first announced in July, which at the time included Crown Perth CEO David Tsai being promoted to the role of President and Group Chief Operating Officer. Tsai, who became Acting CEO in August when Ciaran Carruthers announced his impending departure, was last week confirmed as CEO of Crown Resorts.
Crown recently won back its casino licenses for both Crown Melbourne and Crown Sydney after being found to have returned to suitability by the respective state regulators.
