Newport World Resorts has announced John Lucas, current General Manager of Hilton Manila, as its new Chief Hospitality Officer, effective January 2025.
In a social media post, the Philippines integrated resort said Lucas brings over 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry to the role, including General Manager positions at Parmelia Hilton Perth, Hilton Hotels Worldwide, Hilton Group Northern Territory and Hilton Cairns. He has overseen Hilton Manila since March 2022.
“His insights will be invaluable as we continue to elevate Newport World Resorts to new heights,” the company said.
Lucas becomes the latest addition to NWR’s executive team following the departures of former CEO Kingson Sian, COO Hakan Dagtas and CFO Bernard Than in June.
They were replaced by Nilo Rodriguez as CEO, former Chief Casino Officer Lance Gautreaux as COO and more recently Laurence Hawke as CFO.
As previously reported by IAG, TIHGI’s executive overhaul is part of the company’s transition away from the influence of its former joint venture partner Genting Hong Kong.
Hilton Manila has been the venue for the IAG Academy Summit and the IAG Academy IR Awards for the past two years, and has been announced as the venue for the 2025 IAG EXPO to take place from 8 to 10 September 2025.
