IAG has learned that Newport World Resorts operator Travellers International Hotel Group (TIHGI) has named Laurence Hawke, former Group CFO of Hoiana Resort & Golf in Vietnam, as its new CFO. It is planned that Hawke will commence in his new role on 8 July 2024.

Hawke joins the company’s new executive leadership team, including CEO Nilo Rodriguez and COO Lance Gautreaux, in leading the Manila integrated resort forward following the departures of Kingson Sian, Hakan Dagtas and Bernard Than on 1 June.

Laurence Hawke

According to information gleaned by IAG, Hawke will report directly to Rodriguez and work closely with Gautreaux and Executive Chairman Kevin Tan, who is the CEO of parent company Alliance Global Group and son of Chairman Andrew Tan.

Hawke is a seasoned executive of the Asian integrated resort industry with extensive experience in gaming and non-gaming corporate finance, including strategic planning, analysis, financial controls and budget management.

As previously reported by IAG, TIHGI’s executive overhaul is part of the company’s transition away from the influence of its former joint venture partner Genting Hong Kong, with both Sian and Than having previously been executives with Genting Hong Kong subsidiary Star Cruises, and Sian’s departure part of a planned retirement.
