Philippines integrated resort Okada Manila has launched a series of activities and initiatives for team members centered around mental well-being within the workplace.
The campaign, themed “It’s Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace” and in recognition of World Mental Health Day, is aimed at emphasizing the importance of fostering a supportive and healthy work environment where mental health is not only protected but prioritized for all.
Okada Manila said it has been an active participant in the #LightUpBlueforMentalHealth campaign of the Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA) since 2019 and has consistently advocated for the promotion of mental health in the country. This, it added, reflects its steadfast support for mental health advocacy and its commitment to creating a workplace culture that values and supports the mental well-being of its employees.
PMHA, a private, non-stock, non-profit organization, provides premier mental health services through education, advocacy, intervention and research.
“At Okada Manila, we believe that the well-being of our workforce is a cornerstone of our success,” said Okada Manila’s President and COO, Byron Yip.
“As we celebrate Mental Health Day alongside the global community, we are dedicated to creating a work environment that values and prioritizes mental health.
“Our commitment includes robust policies and extends into meaningful actions and initiatives that enhance the well-being of our team members. We are proud to champion this cause as part of our Okada Green Heart program’s Talent and Community pillar.”
To commemorate the occasion, Okada Manila has this year organized a variety of activities throughout the month, including wellness workshops, meditation and yoga sessions, a mental health talk by experts from Medicard Philippines, and a film showing of Inside Out 2.
The company’s Human Resources Division is also conducting full-day internal trainings focused on stress management, featuring seminars and practical workshops led by mental health professionals. These initiatives, combined with free one-on-one counseling sessions for team members, aim to foster awareness, promote resilience, and encourage a culture of mental health and well-being within the organization, it said.
