The Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macau said Wednesday that with immediate effect, foreign Macau residents can apply for a visa to mainland China that will allow multiple trips and visits for up to 180 days. The visas will be valid for five years.
The Commissioner stated that in order to further facilitate the exchange of people between Macau and the mainland, convenient visa policy for both permanent and non-permanent foreign residents of Macau wanting to visit the mainland has been introduced, effective from 16 October 2024.
Foreign-born Macau residents who travel to the mainland for short-term tourism, trade, to visit relatives or for some other activities may apply for the multiple-entry visa.
They will also be exempt from having to submit round-trip air, train or ferry tickets, and hotel bookings, when applying for visas to mainland China, and may enjoy the policy of “one-time collection and long-term exemption” of fingerprints. Applicants who have left fingerprints at Chinese overseas visa agencies will no longer need to have their fingerprints collected when applying for a visa at the Commissioner’s Office.
