Foreigner-only casino operator Grand Korea Leisure reported a 16.9% month-on-month decrease in casino sales to KRW34.3 billion (US$25.6 million) in September, following a similar downturn experienced by market rivals Paradise and Lotte Tour. The September result was, however, up 3.0% year-on-year.
GKL’s casino sales comprised a 17.1% sequential decrease in table revenue to KRW31.6 billion (US$23.5 million) and 14.6% decrease in slots revenue to KRW2.72 billion (US$2.0 million). It came off a 16.1% decline in drop to KRW277.7 billion (US$207 million).
Casino sales for the first nine months of 2024 combined are at KRW287.4 billion (US$214 million), down 6.0% on the same period last year.
Table drop of KRW2.77 trillion (US$2.06 billion) through September is up 13.5% year-on-year.
GKL operates three casinos in South Korea and Seoul and Busan under the Seven Luck brand.
