Spanish gaming industry supplier Zitro said it has significantly reduced its carbon footprint after successfully transitioning to a 100% renewable electricity supply at its Madrid-Pozuelo office.

By switching to renewable sources, Zitro is actively reducing its Scope 2 emissions, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly planet, the company explained. The transition is estimated to result in annual savings of more than 30 tons of CO2.

Zitro added that although the current emissions reduction is directly linked to the number of people and the office’s electricity use, the company’s commitment to renewable energy sources ensures continued zero emissions even as the company grows.

“We are proud to implement this positive change at our Madrid-Pozuelo office,” said founder Johnny Viveiros Ortiz. “Sustainability is a core value at Zitro, and we are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint.

“This initiative represents a significant step forward in achieving our sustainability goals, with the expectation of reaching net zero in Spain by early 2025.”

According to Zitro, the company is constantly exploring ways to reduce its environmental impact throughout its operations including implementing sustainable product development, manufacturing and waste management practices.
