The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority has named the General Manager of its Mohegan Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Joseph J. Hasson, as interim COO of the company following the sudden departure of long-time COO Jody Madigan.
According to a statement, Madigan has resigned effective 1 August 2024 but will take a leave of absence pending his departure. No reason was given for his resignation.
Instead, Mohegan said Hasson presented as the “obvious choice” to stand in as interim COO given his prior experience as the former Chief Operating Officer of Station Casinos LLC and Red Rock Resorts, Inc. Hasson, the company added, brings “considerable expertise to the executive team with a consistent track record of operating excellence and success over more than 40 years’ experience in the gaming and hospitality industry.”
He will report directly to Mohegan’s President and CEO, Ray Pineault.
“Joseph J. Hasson’s deep understanding of the gaming and hospitality industry makes him exceptionally qualified to maintain our high service and operational excellence standards,” said Pineault. “We are confident that Joe’s extensive experience and proven leadership will ensure continuity in our operations and guest experience.”
Mohegan operates eight casino resorts across the United States and Canada and recently opened its first Asian IR, Mohegan INSPIRE, in Incheon, South Korea.
