The return of the ICE London and iGB Affiliate exhibitions next week – the last time these shows will be held in the English capital before they make the move to Barcelona in 2025 – are projected to see more than 1 million meetings and business connections take place, according to organizer Clarion Gaming.
The hefty figure – based on data generated by the ICE and iGB Affiliate event apps – provides context to the scale and importance of the 2024 events.
“The 7,000+ delegates already using our events apps are arranging an average of 20 meetings per user,” said Stuart Hunter, Managing Director at Clarion Gaming.
“By applying that number to various scenarios we can see that 40,000 attendees will generate 800,000 meetings and 45,000 would deliver 900,000 engagements. If the combined attendance at the last editions of ICE and iGB Affiliate to be held in London reaches 50,000 we will then hit the magic million figure.
“I must stress that the calculation does not take into account the numerous impromptu meetings which always occur on and off the show floors. The figures, which chime with our post 2023 show research which showed that visitors met on average 15 contacts whilst attending the shows clearly demonstrate the pivotal role played by next week’s events and provide an indication of how vital they are in helping to power the international gaming economy and shape the future of the industry.”
Clarion said the ability to connect with the global market has been facilitated by the development of high profile show features including the Esports Arena, the Consumer Protection Zone, The High Street Hub, the Growth Markets Zone, iGB INTRODUCING, iGB ASCEND, the IGB Affiliate Awards and Fast Forward – a focal point for the gaming industry to discover, discuss and shape the future.
