Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands will invest an additional US$750 million into transformation of the property, designed to ensure it remains a “unique, exhilarating experience for local and international visitors,” the company said Thursday.
The additional investment into the second phase of the property’s transformation is on top of the US$1 billion already poured into the first phase, which is now in its final stages of completion. The second phase, MBS explained, would focus on revamping Tower 3, the Hotel Lobby and Sands SkyPark. It will also include a reimagined VIP arrival experience, new premium dining and retail offerings and a renewed focus on wellness experiences for guests.
More than 550 redesigned rooms, including approximately 380 suites, will be introduced in this phase, with work expected to be complete in 2025.
MBS said the transformation project is part of a multi-year programme to strengthen the positioning of the iconic integrated resort as a leader in the luxury hospitality industry. The project is separate to a US$3.3 billion expansion that will see a fourth hotel tower added in the coming years.
“We are excited about the next stage of Marina Bay Sands’ development, and how this will strengthen Singapore’s appeal as a leading tourism destination,” said MBS Chief Operating Officer, Paul Town.
“Marina Bay Sands has made significant progress in delivering new world-leading luxury travel experiences over the past two years. This second phase of reinvestment will be critical as it propels the property to new heights and places us in a strong position to capture future growth opportunities.
“We look forward to having visitors enjoy these new and enhanced offerings.”
The company noted that the first phase transformation has seen extensive upgrading of around 1,280 rooms across Towers 1 and 2, of which 390 are new suites. MBS will also launch in February the Paiza Sky Club – located on the 55th floor of Tower 2 – featuring a tea vault, bespoke whisky bar, private liquor locker, garden conservatory and buffet spreads served from open kitchens helmed by top chefs.
