Macau’s Judiciary Police (PJ) said Friday morning that the suspect in a homicide committed in a Cotai hotel room has been detained in mainland China. The victim’s body was discovered in a room at The Parisian Macao on Thursday evening, suffering a laceration to the head and spots on his body.
Having previously stated that the man’s death was being treated as suspicious, the PJ confirmed Friday that the suspect had been arrested at around 11pm on Thursday night.
The mainland Chinese man is said to have fled Macau in the early hours of Thursday morning, however Macau authorities informed their mainland counterparts of the suspect’s identity and he was detained soon afterwards.
The PJ will hold a press conference at 2:30pm today to provide further information on the case.
