The number of visitors entering Macau reached 580,333 in October, representing a 76.8% year-on-year increase and 4.0% higher than the 557,842 who arrived in September.
According to information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), overnight visitors grew by 181.4% year-on-year to 313,542 and same-day visitors by 23.0% to 266,791. The average length of stay of visitors shortened by 0.5 days year-on-year to 1.8 days.
October’s visitor numbers included 518,843 from mainland China, up 72.4%, of which 202,166 visitors travelled under the Individual Visit Scheme. Visitors from the nine cities in the Pearl River Delta in the Greater Bay Area totalled 311,919, 37.4% of whom came from Zhuhai. There were also 49,510 visitors from Hong Kong and 7,614 from Taiwan.
For the first 10 months of 2022 combined, the number of visitor arrivals fell by 18.7% year-on-year to 4,944,438, with 2,886,134 same-day visitors and 2,058,304 overnight visitors – down by 5.9% and 31.7% respectively.
The average length of stay of visitors decreased by 0.2 days year-on-year to 1.4 days.
