The France Macau Chamber of Commerce (FMCC) hosted its 2022 Charity Gala Dinner last week, with around 290 members and guests enjoying the theme “Around the World in 80 Days” at MGM Macau.
The popular annual event raised MOP$61,000 (US$7,500) in support of the “Association of Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macao (ARTM) which helps raise awareness around the abuse use of alcohol and its impacts, including the set-up of a 24-hour hotline.
FMCC Chairman Rutger Verschuren and the Executive Board welcomed Mr Hoi Io Meng, Deputy Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, and other community and industry leaders from Macau and the Greater Bay Area to the event.
Verschuren also discussed the challenges Macau has faced over the past three years while looking to brighter days ahead.
“Let us reframe bad luck as an opportunity for growth, reflection, change and developing resiliency,” he said.
“This is exactly what FMCC and many of us in Macau have done: turning the unexpected hardships into opportunities by seeing and connecting the bright dots.
“Almost three years down the road, we found ways to survive yet not easy and we have gone through a lot of changes and new normals. By sourcing and implementing new technologies, new organization structures and concepts, rethinking our business processes, we became more efficient and stronger.”
