Galaxy Entertainment Group Vice Chairman, Francis Lui, has sent a message of support to the industry after being named the most influential person in Asian gaming for the fourth year in a row at Friday night’s Asian Gaming Power 50 Gala Dinner.
Lui maintained his number one ranking despite the ongoing challenges being faced by operators in Macau, with Genting Berhad Chairman and CEO Lim Kok Thay coming in at number two. Many industry executives in the Philippines and Singapore also enjoyed considerable rises on the back of strong business recovery following the easing of most COVID-19 restrictions earlier this year.
Lui, whose company operates Galaxy Macau and StarWorld, and is looking to open Galaxy Macau Phase 3 in 2023, said, “Thank you for the support and recognition from IAG, the panel judges and the community, and I am truly honored to be ranked first again in the Asian Gaming Power 50.
“With the ongoing impact of the pandemic, our industry is still confronted with enormous challenges. While we are all trying hard to adjust to this new normal, it is heartening to see the Power 50 bringing the industry together as one to recognize its most outstanding leaders from across the region and, more importantly, to show unity in facing the obstacles ahead.

This year represents the sixth time Lui has topped the Asian Gaming Power 50 list, having previously done so in 2011, 2012 and from 2019 to 2021.
