Macau’s Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Center has announced a series of changes to the status of the city’s quarantine hotels, with the Treasure Hotel and Regency Art Hotel to be designated for exclusive use of those arriving from abroad. The changes come in response to the recent easing of COVID-19 case numbers in the Hong Kong SAR, rising cases in Taiwan and the needs of students returning to Macau from overseas studies.
Under the new schedule, the Pousada Marina Infante Hotel will be re-opened and used as a general designated medical observation hotel for Macau residents or foreign employees coming to Macau from Hong Kong, while Grand Coloane Resort is to be used as a general optional medical observation hotel for visitors from Hong Kong.
The Treasure Hotel will be used as a designated medical observation hotel for Macau residents and foreign workers – including workers from the Philippines – as well as for arrivals from Taiwan. Macau residents who are eligible to stay in the hotel may apply for a fee waiver.
Finally, the Regency Art Hotel will be used as a special optional medical observation hotel for medical observation of foreigners (excluding foreign workers from the Philippines) and Taiwanese visitors to Macau.
