Melinda Chan has been reappointed as CEO of Macau Legend Development Ltd for the remainder of 2022 following the arrest of former Chairman and CEO Levo Chan in January.
In a filing, Macau Legend said Ms Chan – who previously served as CEO for nine months in 2020 – has agreed to resume the role for an initial eight month period running from 1 March until 31 December 2022. She will be paid HK$220,000 per month plus a bonus of 1% of the positive gaming EBITDA of the company’s Macau business.

Ms Chan’s previous term as CEO ended when Levo Chan – better known as the head of then-leading Macau junket Tak Chun Group – acquired a personal 33.2% stake in Macau Legend. He was appointed Chairman and CEO shortly afterwards but was forced to step down last month following his arrest on charges of criminal organization, illegal gambling and money laundering.
Macau Legend also announced Tuesday that Li Chu Kwan has been named the company’s new Chairman, while Li Chun Tak and Patrick Mak Ka Wing have both joined the board as non-executive directors.
The company, which operates Legend Palace and Babylon casinos in the Macau Fisherman’s Wharf precinct under the license of SJM Resorts – recently said it plans to submit a bid for one of six casino concessions to be issued under the upcoming re-tendering for Macau gaming licenses.
