India’s leading gaming company Delta Corp has reported a 104.2% year-on-year increase in gross income from operations to Rs 307.65 crore (US$41.7 million) for the three months to 31 December 2021, boosted by the reopening of its casinos in Goa and Sikkim.
According to the company’s financial reports for the quarter, released Tuesday, gaming operations contributed gross income of Rs 249.65 crore (US$33.8 million), up from Rs 97.51 crore (US$13.2 million) in the same period last year, with income from hospitality rising 106.0% to Rs 22.29 crore (US$3.0 million).
Income from online operations, namely the company’s online poker site Adda52.com, online rummy site Adda52rummy.com and online fantasy sports site LeagueAdda.com, fell 15.6% to Rs 35.71 crore (US$4.8 million).
Profit for the period grew from just Rs 1.28 crore (US$173,500) in the December quarter of 2020 to Rs 70.38 crore (US$9.5 million).
Delta Corp operates India’s two largest offshore casinos, Deltin Royale and Deltin JAQK, and the country’s only floating hotel with a casino, King Casino, all located in Goa. It also owns and operates the Deltin Suites in Goa Casino Deltin Denzong in Sikkim, as well as the 176-room five-star hotel The Deltin in Daman.
