Melco Resorts says it is working with the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government to donate MOP$10 million (US$1.25 million) to support flood control, emergency relief and reconstruction work in the city of Zhengzhou.
The donation follows torrential rain in Henan province, located in central China, which has seen in at least 25 people lose their lives and hundreds displaced.
Melco Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho said, “Our hearts are with the people of Henan and those who have been impacted by the flooding. We wish that all the affected communities and rescue teams are safe and well, and we hope the situation will improve and that families can soon be reunited.
“Melco is committed to contributing to the relief efforts and continues to stand with everyone in Henan.”
