Oshidori International Development LLC, one of the three remaining candidates to develop an integrated resort in Nagasaki, has announced it will donate JPY10 million (US$92,000) to seven child welfare facilities in the prefecture for Children’s Day this Wednesday 5 May.
The donation is part of the company’s “Children’s Day the Oshidori Way” initiative supporting children in Nagasaki. The donations will be made through the Oshidori Children’s Foundation.
Moe Murakami, executive officer and CSR manager of Oshidori, said, “Children’s Day is a day to wish for the healthy growth of our children and rejoice in them. We were trying to think how we could support children and learned that there are various issues involving children in Nagasaki, such as child abuse.
“When we consider the future of the city, the most important thing is the happiness of the residents. There are many changes happening now and we should treasure the children, who are our future. With that in mind, we will implement this initiative with the simple message that we want the children of Nagasaki to be able to sleep feeling hope for tomorrow.
“Oshidori will continue to contribute as much as we can so that people in Nagasaki can feel confidence and love for their city.”
Oshidori Consortium, Casinos Austria and NIKI & Chyau Fwu (Park View) Group were named in March as the three applicatns to have passed the first screening stage of Nagasaki’s RFP, with the secondary stage to result in a successful candidate being named in August.
