Sands China has announced that Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director Grant Chum will replace Rob Goldstein as Chairman of the Sands China Capital Expenditure Committee.
The boardroom change will see Chum, alongside fellow committee members Dr Wilfred Wong and Victor Hoog Antink, responsible for all non-budgeted capital expenditure projects with a value exceeding US$10 million per project. Dr Wong, who ranked No 10 on IAG’s Asian Gaming Power 50 list in 2020, is President of Sands China Ltd.

The appointment of Chum as chairman of the Capex Committee comes as Sands China nears completion of its US$2 billion transformation of Sands Cotai Central into The Londoner Macao, having opened Phase 1 in February.
Chum, who was formerly Chief of Staff, assumed the COO role in February 2020, continuing his rapid rise through the company’s ranks.
Goldstein, meanwhile, steps aside from the Committee to focus on his new role as Chairman and CEO of the company, having replaced founder Sheldon Adelson who passed away in January. Goldstein remains chair of the Nomination Committee.
Sands China also revealed this week that independent director Ms Chiang Yun has been appointed Chairman of the newly created Environmental, Social and Governance Committee alongside Dr Wong and Kenneth Patrick Chung.
