Wynn Macau Ltd is offering two special vacation days to any staff members who receive both shots of the COVID-19 vaccination.
According to an internal memo obtained by Inside Asian Gaming, all team members of both Wynn Macau on the peninsula and Wynn Palace in Cotai who receive the vaccine will be provided with two days off – one day for each vaccination shot.
Both COVID-19 vaccines currently available to Macau residents, Sinopharm and BioNTech, require two shots for inoculation with Sinopharm’s shots delivered up to 28 days apart and BioNTech 21 days apart.
“Team members can choose to use the special vacation on the day of vaccination or the following day,” Wynn’s memo reads.
Macau’s vaccination program is already well underway, with more than 18,000 people having received their shots so far and another 44,000 registered.
The first of 500,000 Sinopharm doses to have arrived in Macau was administered on 9 February, while BioNTech – with 100,000 doses landing last week – provided its first vaccinations on 3 March.
Priority has so far been given to frontline health personnel, those in high exposure occupations and people needing to travel to high-risk areas, however the government announced last Monday that casino workers would be included in the second stage of its vaccination rollout.
Macau has also ordered 400,000 doses of a vaccine developed by AstraZeneca, although delivery is not expected until Q3.
