Philippines integrated resort Okada Manila has confirmed it will resume partial operations of its casino and other resort facilities following a recent directive from PAGCOR granting permission to run at 30% capacity.
In a notice on operations posted on its corporate website, parent company Universal Entertainment Corp said it plans to reopen part of its casino area, including up to 30% of gaming tables and slot machines, as well as hotels and restaurants.
Casinos in Metro Manila have been closed since 15 March as per the nation’s community quarantine directives, although Manila’s four integrated resorts – Okada Manila, Solaire Resort & Casino, Resorts World Manila and City of Dreams Manila – have been running small trials for invited guests since July.
Okada Manila said it will “thoroughly implement hygiene management protocols such as disinfection and cleaning according to the modes of operation of each facility, and strive to operate facilities that customers can enjoy at ease.”
The company added it has not yet determined its consolidated financial forecast for the fiscal year ending December 2020 but will announce its estimates in the near future.
Okada Manila revealed in May that it had been forced to lay off 1,000 employees due to financial pressures brought about by COVID-19.
