The Thailand Entertainment Complex Roundtable (TECR) – a groundbreaking event bringing together international integrated resort operators Galaxy, Melco and Wynn as well as major figures who have opposed the introduction of entertainment complexes (ECs) to Thailand – will truly be a real-time fully bilingual event featuring instantaneous transcription and translation as well as simultaneous interpretation.

The comprehensive transcription and translation solution aims to ensure that all attendees can follow in detail the high-level discussions that will form the centerpiece of this unique event, taking place next Thursday 5 June 2025 at the Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok.

The real-time transcription and translation technology has been developed in-house by Inside Asian Gaming Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer, Cory Roberts. IAG is organizing, producing and hosting TECR.

The technology will see all presentations and discussions transcribed and translated onto a huge 12-meter x 6-meter LED wall located directly behind the main stage as well as on laptops provided to each TECR roundtable participant. This will occur in real time as participants are speaking – irrespective of whether they are speaking Thai or English. There will also be a highly skilled team of six simultaneous interpreters on site, ensuring truly comprehensive bilingual coverage of the event for all attendees.

Attendance is by invitation only with the select audience of around 50 people to comprise influential figures representing Thai society – such as captains of industry, academics, bureaucrats, NGO leaders and potentially some politicians close to the EC debate.

The venue for TECR, the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, is renowned as one of the most prestigious 5-star hotels in Bangkok and its exquisitely appointed ballroom – where TECR will take place – has hosted some of the grandest high-society events ever held in Thailand.

TECR shapes as a hugely important event for Thailand’s burgeoning entertainment complex industry, bringing together contrasting viewpoints to respectfully discuss and debate the relevant issues that will make or break the government’s Entertainment Complex Bill. It is strategically taking place as a special Senate Committee conducts its review of the Bill and a month before Thailand’s House of Representatives reconvenes to begin its own deliberations on the EC Bill.

IAG’s role as organizer follows our recent 5,000-word deep dive into the issue of ECs, which garnered a significant reaction from Thai mainstream media. The deep dive has since been translated into Thai and serialized by leading mainstream media outlet The Nation, prompting in-depth discussions between IAG and key stakeholders on both sides of the EC argument. Thai media has also been running previews of TECR on major digital platforms.

It was within this framework – and taking into account IAG’s convening authority within the global gaming industry – that led to this one-of-a-kind gathering of minds.

TECR will be attended by representatives of Thailand’s largest mainstream media outlets and the resulting Thai and English coverage in Thailand is expected to reach millions of eyeballs throughout the country. IAG understands that individuals at the very highest levels in Thailand will be closely monitoring proceedings. IAG will also provide extensive coverage in English for our international audience of executives from across the global integrated resort industry.
