Marina Bay Sands has revealed to Inside Asian Gaming a series of recent changes to its executive leadership team that have seen Managing Director George Tanasijevich turn his focus to local and international expansion, with Andrew MacDonald and Paul Town taking over most day-to-day operations.
The changes, made earlier this year but not announced publicly, allow Tanasijevich, previously President and CEO of MBS, to concentrate on new development opportunities for Las Vegas Sands in the region in his role as the parent company’s Managing Director of Global Development.
He remains involved in MBS’ legal and compliance and government-related matters, as well as the ongoing US$3.3 billion expansion of the Singapore IR.
MacDonald, MBS’ Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Casino Officer, now oversees all gaming operations while Paul Town, who joined the company in November 2019, is responsible for all non-gaming operations in his role as Senior Vice President of Resort Operations.
Together the pair hold “joint responsibility for the day-to-day operational and administrative functions of Marina Bay Sands,” the company told IAG in response to inquiries.
It added that changes to the leadership structure were made “to enable the future success of the property and maximize our new development opportunity in Singapore.”
