The funeral of Dr Stanley Ho, who passed away on 26 May at the age of 98, will be held on 9 and 10 July.
More than 100 well-known politicians and celebrities in Macau and Hong Kong have formed Dr Ho’s funeral committee, according to the obituary published in a Hong Kong newspaper on Tuesday.
The Vice President of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and former Hong Kong Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa will be the committee’s honorary director, while another two CPPCC Vice Presidents – the former Hong Kong Chief Executive, Leung Chun-ying, and former Macau Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau-wah, are the honorary Vice Directors of the funeral committee.
Macau Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng, Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam, Director of the Hong Kong Liaison Office Luo Huining, Director of the Macau Liaison Office Fu Ziying, and former Macau Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On are directors of the funeral committee.
The funeral committee comprises over 90 members, including Li Ka-shing, the senior advisor for CK Hutchison Holdings and CK Asset Holdings, Lee Shau-kee, the founder of Henderson Land Development, and Ambrose So, Executive Director of SJM Holdings, as well as several NPC deputies, CPPCC members and principal officials in Hong Kong and Macau.
A vigil for Dr Ho will be held at the Hong Kong Funeral Home on Thursday 9 July where the public can pay their respects, followed by the funeral service on 10 July. Dr Ho will be buried at a later date.
